The thunder earlier almost scared the daylights out of me while i was taking an afternoon nap.
Went for ICAC recce yesterday and it was quite fun, i must say, especially trying out the obstacle course of sorts at West Coast Park. Of course, it must have been much fun-er for the public to look at a bunch of overgrown teenagers (especially me) having fun and squealing all over that place meant for kids, but ah, who cares. I doubt i'm going there ever again.
The highlight of the obstacle course: The Pyramid!!!

I dunno if you can see, but i'm scared crap at the top of the pyramid. Okay, im just faking that expression, but it's really tall and i kinda have a phobia of heights. Again, the entertainment we bring to the public at West Coast Park. :S
After the strenuous task, we went on to Queensway, where we went to some uber tall HDB flat and took the lift to the highest floor, the 40th.
WHAT A VIEW YOU'D GET FROM THERE, MAN. You get to see all the way to Bukit Timah and the forests beyond it from there. You can even see NJ and Hwa Chong. Coolness. But once again, i get the ARGH-IM-SO-HIGH-UP-FROM-THE-GROUND feeling, especially when looking all the way down from up there. I almost had to cling on to the railings when walking around there. Brrrrr....
I seriously envy all those who can afford the dough that an apartment at the 40th floor would cost. But in retrospect, they'd be one of the first targets should a hijacked plane choose to crash into any structure in Singapore, so maybe im not that jealous afterall.
After that, after someone's wonderful suggestion, we walked all the way down from the 40th floor using the stairs. Boy, it was neverending and i almost got dizzy from all the turning. I could almost imagine myself doing it forever.
The rain almost spoilt everything from there. Lousy views, getting your head rained upon, dirty legs, irritating umbrellas getting into your faces (especially when you're taller than the rest) xD
After that we went to Mount Faber and the experience of climbing it was.... well, not what i had expected of climbing a mountain. We were simply walking uphill along side a road with lots of civilisation around, HDB estate, private housing, carparks, yadda yadda. And more steps to climb. Wheeeee.... View up there wasnt nothing much, just that i could see my ancestor, the Merlion, from there. When we made our way down, MORE STAIRS. Whoooo....
Made our way to Sentosa after that, nothing much, some dumb nature trail that no one would go to when in Sentosa. Macritchie or even my neighbourhood park beats that, man. Nothing much, just MORE STAIRS. Goodness, i think overall yesterday we climbed enough stairs to scale NJ's stairs more than a hundred and thirty nine times over. I kid you not.
With dinner at Vivocity, what an experience it was. The highlight of the day, seriously.
TERRA RESTAURANT. Western food. CHINESE CHARACTERS WITH ENGLISH IN MENU. DISTILLED WATER FOR YOUR MUSHROOM SOUP. Edible baked rice BUT IT WAS THE WORSE IVE HAD. HORRIBLE CRAP TASTING CARBONARA. (i pity waikit and the person sitting next to our table) CHEAPO ICECREAM.
Funniness ensured when we looked at the table next to ours. They were complaining about the soup. And the face of a girl sitting there was complaining about her food (some noodle like thingy, couldnt really tell). She didnt touch much of it, saw her nibbling some and rejecting the rest from her mouth. Her facial expression was priceless, i tell you. Just a pity i couldnt get a picture of that, it was really funny.
Therefore, i give this WARNING TO ANYONE WHO MAY READ THIS. THE FOOD IN TERRA RESTAURANT SUCKS MORETHAN ALL THE STRAWS IN YOUR HOUSE AND YOUR VACUUM CLEANER. PATRONISE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
If there were a Solaris restaurant, im sure it would have been much better xD
Marvelled at waikit's i-wanna-buy-all-these-but-im-not-a-rich-kid syndrome later, and it was home to rest after the punishment my feet took walking through everything with a super wornout, thinned out pair of slippers.
Im not gonna be so dumb anymore.
